ParkBee is a fast-growing Pan European technology company transforming the way people park in cities. Through its digital platform, ParkBee unlocks unused parking capacity by connecting drivers with spaces at hotels, offices, residential buildings and other locations. With an asset-light business model and an expanding international footprint, ParkBee is set on continuing their 30% YoY growth rate, with further European expansion and new propositions on the agenda. To support this growth and further professionalize the Finance function, ParkBee is looking for a Senior Financial Controller.
As Senior Financial Controller, you will be the technical backbone of Finance and report directly to the CFO. You will also manage and coach the Financial Controller who reports directly to you, while working closely with the Business Controller, Board, business stakeholders and external parties. It is a hands-on role with a broad scope, where you have the opportunity to make an immediate impact and help shape and scale the Finance function.
You will manage ParkBee’s internal and external financial reporting, audit and fiscal processes across the Netherlands and the UK. You are end-to-end responsible for the accounting and reporting processes, including consolidation and the coordination of audits. You will also take ownership of the fiscal responsibilities across the different countries, including VAT returns and coordination with external tax advisors on VAT and other tax-related matters. The Financial Controller handles most of the day-to-day Finance operations, while you monitor, guide and support the Financial Controller and step in where needed on more complex accounting and reporting matters.
Managing and optimizing the core Finance processes is another important part of the role. Together with the Financial Controller, you will ensure that the Finance processes continue to operate effectively as ParkBee scales. This includes areas such as the monthly close cycle, cash and working capital. With ParkBee’s AI-first mindset, there is also a strong focus on using technology to automate and improve Finance processes and improve reporting, both internally and externally.
Crack revenue recognition. This is where the role gets really interesting. We run several business models: some customers pay upfront, others pay when a parking session takes place, and the resulting revenue and cash flows can be intricate. A good part is already automated. Your challenge is to understand the logic behind every flow, troubleshoot where needed and keep improving the setup. Working closely with our PSP providers and data teams, you will help decide whether today's solutions are still fit for purpose and where new technology can make the process faster and more scalable.
You will have the opportunity to get involved in a variety of projects that directly support ParkBee’s growth and development. Think of refinancing and tax optimization, developing business cases, and shaping the financial architecture behind new propositions and entities. These projects give you the opportunity to work on topics beyond the day-to-day Finance operation and contribute to how ParkBee builds and scales its business.
You are a hands-on finance professional with a strong technical foundation. You are naturally curious, ask critical questions and do not easily accept half answers. You are pragmatic and take ownership, while bringing a fresh perspective to processes and ways of working. You are comfortable in a dynamic and international environment, communicate confidently with different stakeholders and are not afraid to stand your ground when discussing financial matters with senior stakeholders. With a clean-slate mindset, you enjoy challenging the status quo, improving Finance processes and helping develop the Finance function.
“Technology, ownership and a hands-on mindset are important parts of the culture at ParkBee. The organization moves quickly, embraces AI and automation, and gives people room to take responsibility and challenge how things are done. To join us, we are looking for someone who combines their expertise with curiosity and a pragmatic approach. Someone who asks questions, stands their ground and is not afraid to bring a fresh perspective to Finance.
It is a role for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys growth, change and a fast-paced international environment. Someone who takes ownership, connects easily with all different kind of internal and external stakeholders and wants to add to the mission giving space back to cities.”
ParkBee's mission is clear: to give space back to cities. By making better use of existing parking infrastructure, ParkBee aims to contribute to more accessible and liveable cities without the need to continuously build new parking facilities.
ParkBee turns unused parking spaces into smart mobility solutions. In cities, many parking spaces remain unused for large parts of the day, while drivers are constantly looking for a place to park. ParkBee connects these two sides by making parking spaces at hotels, offices, residential buildings and other properties digitally accessible. Through its technology, drivers can find, reserve and pay for a parking space, while property owners can make better use of their existing parking capacity.
Founded in the Netherlands in 2016, ParkBee has grown into an international technology company with more than 1,600 parking locations across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom. The company works with more than twenty parking and mobility platforms, giving it access to millions of drivers. With around 80 employees, ParkBee remains a relatively lean organisation, while pursuing clear ambitions for further European growth.
The core of the business is off-street parking. ParkBee generates revenue from parking sessions that are booked and paid for in advance, while also facilitating drive-up parking sessions. The proposition is expanding beyond this core offering. ParkBee has also entered the on-street parking market and now offers Full-Service Management, taking responsibility for the complete management of parking facilities on behalf of property owners. As a result, ParkBee is evolving from a technology platform for parking reservations into an integrated infrastructure layer.
Culture
ParkBee combines the pace and ambition of a scale-up with a highly international and technology-driven culture. With colleagues from around 15 nationalities, English as the working language and short lines to the CFO, CEO and CTPO, the organisation is collaborative, direct and entrepreneurial. Technology and innovation are deeply embedded in the way ParkBee operates, with a strong AI-first mindset and a clear focus on automation and smarter ways of working. The company values people who are curious, challenge the status quo and are comfortable taking ownership in a fast-moving environment. There is little hierarchy and plenty of room to bring new ideas, while the high level of ambition means people are expected to move quickly, think critically and deliver with a high degree of quality.
