Deloitte is the leading professional services firm in the Netherlands, operating at scale across Audit & Assurance, Tax & Legal, Strategy Risk & Transactions Advisory and Technology & Transformation. In a phase where the organization is increasingly focused on data driven decision making, cost discipline, and strengthening its internal steering capabilities, Finance plays a more central and forward-looking role than ever. Within this context, the Finance Business Partner – Enabling Area position operates at the core of that transition: a role that goes beyond reporting, operating directly alongside senior stakeholders to shape decisions, drive cost efficiency, and bring clarity to complex financial structures across the Netherlands and EMEA.
At Deloitte, it is often assumed that you only advise external clients. This is not the case. In the role of Finance Business Partner – Enabling Area, you act as a strategic advisor within the internal support organization (e.g., HR, IT, Procurement, and Real Estate). You engage daily with internal stakeholders, including the Functional Leaders. You challenge them, influence decision making, and contribute to value creation and efficiency through strong cost control across the Netherlands and EMEA. Bringing clarity to the Finance structure, strengthening cost control, and contributing to its future design are core aspects of the role.
You will develop an in-depth understanding of Deloitte’s support organization, its underlying cost drivers, and cost allocation methodologies across both the Netherlands and EMEA. To generate real insight from complex data, you will drive further standardization and increasingly leverage GenAI. You monitor, analyze, and report on cost performance, including monthly variance analyses (actual vs. budget vs. forecast) for the support functions. In addition, you lead cost controlling activities such as budgeting, forecasting, and driver-based planning based on key cost drivers like FTE, external hiring, IT contracts, and real estate costs. You continuously update forecasts and present your analyses to functional leaders and the Financial Control team.
Together with the Functional Leaders, you develop business cases and standardized KPI frameworks for the support functions. Through your leadership skills, you inspire and motivate others, encourage open communication, and build strong, sustainable working relationships.
As a Finance Business Partner, you report to Nico Rensing and are part of his growing team of 13 colleagues. Given your close collaboration with the Functional Leaders, the Financial Control team, senior management and the executive board to shape cost efficient decisions and improvements, you need to be confident, resilient and able to challenge stakeholders convincingly based on solid data. You will work in a hybrid setup, across various offices and from home, with regular presence in Rotterdam.
You will act as a Financial Business Partner for various Functional Leads and other stakeholders across Deloitte to improve costs on e.g. building, people & IT. With your insights and the use of GenAI, it is your goal to professionalize and improve the internal financial processes. You report to the Head of Finance Business Partnering, but you will also work closely with the CFO of Deloitte
As Finance Business Partner you bring a solid financial foundation combined with the confidence to operate in a complex, stakeholder heavy environment. You are not someone who simply reports on the numbers, you understand the story behind them and use that to challenge, influence, and drive change.
You are comfortable operating at senior levels within the organization and know how to hold your ground in discussions with MT and board level stakeholders. At the same time, you take ownership: you don’t wait for direction but proactively identify opportunities to improve structures, processes, and outcomes.
“At Deloitte, Finance is no longer a reporting function, it is a strategic driver of decision making and business performance. As a Finance Business Partner, you operate alongside senior stakeholders and combine strategic exposure with real influence on how the business evolves.”
