As Financial Controller, you will play a key role in Wundermart's continued growth and professionalization. You will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, strengthening financial processes, and ensuring compliance across the business.

As Financial Controller, you'll be at the heart of Wundermart's finance organization, ensuring the business operates with financial accuracy, control and confidence as it continues its rapid international expansion. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll work closely with the Business Controller and Financial Accountants to oversee the company's financial operations, strengthen governance and ensure compliance across multiple European entities.

You'll take ownership of financial reporting, complex reconciliations and internal controls while proactively identifying risks and ensuring the consistent application of accounting standards. In addition, you'll play a key role in improving the buying control by being the project lead on the AI driven invoice matching feature. 
Working alongside external tax and accounting advisors, you'll safeguard statutory compliance and play a leading role in preparing Wundermart for its first external audit in 2027, an important milestone in the company's growth journey.
Beyond maintaining a strong financial foundation, you'll help shape the future of the finance function by driving initiatives to standardise, automate and optimise financial processes. From improving the month-end close and redesigning data flows to implementing new tooling and strengthening audit readiness, you'll help build a scalable, future-proof finance organization that supports Wundermart's ambitious growth across Europe.

•    You hold an MSc degree in Accounting or Finance (RA is a plus).
•    3–5 years of relevant experience in financial control, accounting or audit.
•    Previous experience in a scale-up environment is a plus.
•    You have hands-on experience strengthening a company's financial control environment by building processes, documentation and controls that make an organisation audit-ready.
•    You thrive in a fast-paced, international scale-up environment with operations across multiple European countries.
•    You have a strong analytical mindset, are critical, approachable and continuously look for opportunities to improve.
•    You are fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
•    You are based in the Amsterdam area or able to commute to Amsterdam.
