As the Senior Business Controller you will act as the right hand to the CFO and help the organization make better commercial and operational decisions based on data, analysis, and financial insight. You bring structure to a complex and growing organization with multiple stores, franchise partners, collections, and revenue streams. The core of your role lies in translating large volumes of financial and operational data into actionable insights. You analyze margins, store performance, efficiency per collection, and regional performance, identify where commercial opportunities or operational improvements exist and optimizing stock levels with the stock manager. You monitor return rates and investigate underlying drivers, helping the business improve profitability and operational performance across channels and regions.
You report directly to the CFO and operate at the intersection of finance, data, and business performance. In practice, this means you move easily between strategic discussions, operational analyses, forecasting, and hands-on financial insights. You are comfortable working in detail when needed, while always maintaining a clear overview of the bigger commercial picture.
You are also responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning, ensuring management has reliable steering information to support growth decisions. In addition, you play an active role in strategic projects, including the opening of new stores, franchise expansion, and the rollout of the new ERP landscape. You help further professionalize reporting structures and improve the quality and accessibility of management information through dashboards and Power BI integrations.
What makes this role special is that you join at a moment where a solid foundation is in place, while there is still significant opportunity to build and improve. Within NZA New Zealand Auckland, you work in a business that is growing, professionalizing and expanding its footprint in Germany. Your work has direct visibility and translates quickly into better decisions in stores, operations and commercial performance. You see the impact of your analyses and improvements reflected in the way the business is run on a day-to-day basis
You feel at home in a fast-growing and entrepreneurial organization where data, commerce, and operations come together. In an environment like NZA New Zealand Auckland, with international growth ambitions, multiple stores and franchise operations, and a new ERP system under development, you get energy from bringing structure to complexity and translating data into actionable business insights.
You enjoy working with large amounts of financial and operational data and understand the drivers behind margins, store performance, collection efficiency, and return flows. You combine strong analytical skills with a hands-on mindset and switch easily between forecasting, dashboarding, process improvement, and strategic discussions with the CFO and business stakeholders.
NZA New Zealand Auckland is a Dutch men's fashion brand inspired by New Zealand's nature, colors, and outdoor lifestyle. The brand was founded over fifteen years ago by two entrepreneurs and has been growing rapidly in Europe ever since. Production takes place in Asia, while design, marketing, and collection development are managed from the head office in Amsterdam-Noord.
NZA works with three major collections per year and combines its own retail and franchise with e-commerce and a broad wholesale network. Logistics are handled by the warehouse in Zevenaar, which will be further professionalized soon. In addition, NZA has a clear brand identity within the men's segment: high-quality, comfortable menswear with an outdoor inspiration, aimed at men who are looking for a combination of casual style and functionality.
Within finance, the structure consists of a CFO, a Financial Controller, and a financial administrative team of three employees. This means that you can take full ownership over the business control function and will be involved as finance business partner in the full company.
Culture
The culture at NZA is informal, energetic, and engaged. The head office in Amsterdam plays a central role as a meeting place, where colleagues have lunch together every day and activities such as padel and drinks are regularly organized.
