The company delivers efficient equipment and services for power and heat generation across a wide range of industries and applications, from design and engineering through to after-market services. Professionals around the world work on large scale energy projects, particularly in environments where turbines operate and significant heat is released. NEM ensures this heat is not lost but recovered and reused, improving energy efficiency, sustainability and reliability.
In 2022, NEM was acquired by Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, a German private equity investor specialised in restructuring and scaling businesses with strong potential. Prior to that, NEM had been part of Siemens Energy for many years. Since the acquisition, NEM has been operating as an independent company, while benefiting from Mutares’ expertise, financial strength and international network to accelerate its growth strategy.
With approximately 500 employees and revenues of around EUR 220 million, NEM is well positioned for further expansion. Under the leadership of CEO Alexander Wisse, the organisation is strongly focused on growth, with the ambition to contribute globally to the energy transition. NEM positions itself as a technology leader in areas such as Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs), turbine exhaust systems and industrial heat exchangers. To strengthen this position, the company is investing in sustainable energy solutions that address the increasing demand for energy efficiency, including technologies related to CO₂ reduction, hydrogen and geothermal energy. At the same time, NEM is expanding its international service footprint, further developing its global maintenance and aftermarket capabilities to support customers throughout the lifecycle of their assets and ensure optimal performance.
NEM has supplied nearly 1,000 steam generators across six continents, representing a total equivalent energy capacity that could power 200 million households.
