In this exciting, transitional phase there is a strong need for data-driven decision making, a strong finance business partner function and a robust financial structure. In this newly created Head of Finance role, you will play a pivotal role enabling their ambitious growth strategy.
As Head of Finance you report to the CEO and will be the financial business partner to the board, management team and the business. You will work closely with ACC and be the liaison for 3rd parties such as the external accountant, tax authorities and external advisors. You manage a strong, compact team of 2 colleagues, who you actively mentor and invest in their professional and personal development. Together you are responsible for the full financial spectrum and the ground work of finance is well set-up. However, currently finance is primarily transaction-focused, with an emphasis on accounting, reporting, and operational activities. Elements such as business control, forecasting, cash flow management, and KPI-driven decision-making across the organization are still in the early stages of development. In the first phase, your goal is to let finance evolve into a strategic, future-looking and scalable function that supports the company’s growth ambitions.
To do so starts with collaborating with the business to identify the key metrics for the various business models of S&T including complex engineering projects, licensing, high tech products, and consultancy/contracting. You will translate these into insightful management information, including KPI dashboards, margin analyses, and clear insight into cash position and cash flow. Making use of the full potential of Odoo (ERP) and adding BI tooling and other useful add-ons. You will professionalize the forecasting and budgeting process, introducing more forward-looking and scenario-based planning to improve predictability and decision-making. You will set up strong business control and business performance rhythm across projects, pricing, planning, and contract performance, enabling fact-based steering on profitability and risk. You will continuously switch between details on margins, cash, BOMs, and planning, and the bigger picture, including value drivers, investment scenarios, and key strategic choices.
S&T aims to triple its growth in the coming years, driven by a clear productization strategy transforming bespoke engineering services into scalable, standardized products, expansion into other client segments and growth in both existing (Netherlands, Norway, Italy) and emerging European markets. As Head of Finance, you’ll play a central role in strategic decision-making and execution, growing into a full CFO position alongside as the growth of the company continuous.
You combine a pragmatic approach and an entrepreneurial mentality with a strong strategic mindset. You feel comfortable in a technical and highly specialized environment and are curious, eager to learn, low on ego and strongly focused on collaboration. You switch easily between engineers, business leaders and ACC stakeholders, and bring structure without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

• Master degree and 6-8 years of progressive experience in a business finance position
• You combine experience in a muture organisation with experience in a entrepreneurial (scale-up) environment - you know what “good” looks like and can translate this into robust processes and clear financial governance within S&T
• Strong forecasting, financial modelling, cash management and dashboarding skills, experience with and affinity for automation and digitalization within data & finance
• You are familiar with the pace and value creation dynamics of Private Equity
• Comfortable operating in highly complex environments with significant R&D activity, long delivery cycles, and a high degree of technical specialization
• Experience in aerospace, defence, high tech industry or PE-owned technology companies is a plus
