To support its next phase of expansion, the company is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join its dynamic finance team and play a pivotal role in ensuring financial stability and driving operational excellence.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to become the financial backbone of a rapidly growing scale-up. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be an integral part of a small, multifunctional finance team with broad expertise and responsibilities. In this position, you will oversee all aspects of controllership, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.

You will manage the monthly financial close and reporting process, ensuring that all financial records are accurate, complete, and submitted on time. This includes reconciling accounts and reviewing financial statements to identify and resolve any discrepancies, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards. Your role will also involve preparing clear and insightful management reports for both internal and external stakeholders, tracking key financial metrics such as liquidity, cash flow, and profitability. These reports will provide leadership with the necessary data to make informed decisions. Additionally, you will ensure that tax filings are accurate and submitted on time, helping to maintain the company’s compliance and financial efficiency.

As the lead for accounting and reporting, you will oversee the financial administration for all entities, resolving discrepancies and preparing the Annual Report, while ensuring timely reporting and providing analysis of financial results. You will take charge of yearly budgeting and forecasting processes, alongside managing payroll-related tasks, including processing changes related to new starters, leavers, tax forms, benefits, contract changes, and other HR-related adjustments. Additionally, you will ensure all HRIS change requests are accurately captured in payroll.

  • MSc degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of overall finance experience, including at least 2 to 3 years of finance experience in the Netherlands
  • General understanding of the finance context, including confidentiality, legal framework, policies, and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Dutch would be a big plus
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team player
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
