Moreover, the GranEnergia group of companies has an extended Oil & Gas services portfolio to support its client Offshore and Onshore operations. With approximately 5,800 staff, well-equipped support bases and significant fabrication and storage capacity, the GranEnergia Group delivers innovative and integrated life cycle solutions in the fields of offshore maintenance and repair, logistical services and infrastructure facilities to both local and international clients in the offshore energy sector. To further support the Rotterdam team, GranEnergia is looking for an ambitious Controller.
As the Controller you report directly to and are a sparring partner for the Finance Director. In this role, the Business analyst reports directly to you. During the closing, you will be responsible for the (financial) reporting processes. You will play a vital role in setting up and maintaining accounting systems that adhere to IFRS and the requirements from Netherlands Civil code book 2 title 9. Accuracy, timeliness, and relevance are paramount in the financial reporting processes. You will be responsible for ensuring that the group financial reports meet the highest standards and provide crucial insights for strategic decision-making.
Your expertise will ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, enabling GranEnergia to make well-informed decisions. As a forward-thinking organization, GranEnergia values the integration of technology in their financial operations. Your expertise in providing stable and cost-effective IT systems and infrastructure will further enhance the reporting processes as well as business control.
Your expertise in Management Accounting will be put to good use as you prepare insightful reports on the performance of projects and vessels. You will analyze the overall performance of the holding company and its subsidiaries (SPEs), providing valuable financial information that empowers management to make well-informed decisions for the future stability, profitability, and growth of the organization. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing external audit process, ensuring early detection of potential issues and taking proactive measures to address them.
Next to the recurring cycle you will experience that a big part of your role will be supporting the business with ad hoc analyses and projects. As an example, due to a recent relevant acquisition the Group organogram is being reviewed and a restructure is planned to happen shortly. You are expected to take the lead in getting the finance processes and management reporting to the next level, spot improvement opportunities and act on them.

GranEnergia is a family-owned company, founded in 2011 in Brazil. GranEnergia is headquartered in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) and has its operational base in Macae. The Brazilian offices consist of approximately 25 colleagues, responsible for amongst other, project management, ship management, procurement, finance, logistics, legal and HR.
In The Netherlands GranEnergia is based in the beating heart of the Rotterdam business center, next to Central Station. The Rotterdam team currently consists of 5 colleagues from Senior Management, Finance, and Commercial functions. Their Rotterdam office is the holding company of the Marine Operations of the GranEnergia Group and of GranServices. They are responsible for the holding company and perform the annual audit.
They manage 2 accommodation vessels, the Olympia and the Venus, able to host up to 500 people each. The vessels have a crew of 30-35 people each, so in total we have almost 150 colleagues working offshore. Together they can deliver the quality to their clients that we find so important. Both vessels currently operate in Brazil.
