What do you do?

Avedon Capital Partners focuses providing growth capital to small and medium sized companies in the Benelux and DACH. On average Avedon manages and actively supports 15 – 20 portfolio companies in a variety of industries. Avedon Capital Partners has offices in Amsterdam and Düsseldorf and over EUR 500 million assets under management.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to enter into Private Equity. You are the right hand of the CFO and have exposure to portfolio companies in various industries in a dynamic and challenging environment. In this broad position, you will have interaction with internal stakeholders and external parties such as the external accountant, tax authorities, banks, regulators, and the depository. You will be part of a small team of highly experienced professionals with colleagues in the Amsterdam and Düsseldorf office.  

You have a dual focus which involves coordinating, reviewing, and managing the reporting for the corporate entities and the four funds. For both, the accounting tasks are outsourced to a third-party accounting firm. You will take charge of the corporate entities' monthly, quarterly, and annual (internal and external) financial reporting. This encompasses consolidation, financial statements, tax management, accounting, payroll, working capital, and handling ad hoc requests. Additionally, you will provide quarterly valuations of the portfolio, amongst others monitoring portfolio company reporting, and DCF analysis. Collaborating with the investment managers, you will assess performance and oversee the reporting processes.

For the four funds, you will be responsible for reviewing and controlling the fund administration, which includes quarterly and annual investor reporting, valuations, capital account statements, capital calls, distributions, acquisitions, exits, tax, and working capital facilities. Additionally, you will prepare KPI dashboards for management and the supervisory board, providing insights into the fund's performance. Alongside the investment team, you will coordinate the value enhancement plan for the portfolio companies. Your role will involve onboarding, managing, and continuously improving the monthly reporting of the various portfolio companies across the different funds in the portfolio management system (I-level).

Good to know

In this position, you are encouraged to take on projects and dive into topics that interest you. You improve and implement the ESG reporting framework, which is adapted across the portfolio and corporate companies. Together with the CFO, you could also support future fundraising, provide analyses on performance, and set up new KPI dashboards.

Who are you?

In this position, we are looking for a financial who is hands-on, ambitious and stress resistant. You have a strong technical accounting background, excellent stakeholder management skills, can handle  deadlines and never compromise on quality.

  • Master degree in Finance, Economics or Accountancy
  • >5 years of experience in Audit, or as a Controller and/or Finance Manager
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
  • You have an affinity with private equity
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders across the business and to work independently and build relationships across dispersed, cross-functional teams
  • You are self-motivated, accurate with eye for details, result-oriented and reliable to safeguard the reputation of Avedon Capital
